This paper reports on five species of the genus Agauopsis Viets 1927, collected from sand sediment habitats along the Turkish Aegean and Mediterranean coasts. A new species, Agauopsis chatterjeeisp. nov. belonging to the ornata group, is described and illustrated in detail based on a female specimen collected from detritus-rich sediment with seagrass (Posidonia oceanica) in Antalya. Agauopsissp. belonging to the conjuncta group, resembles A. benziei from Great Barrier Reef (Australia) but differs in some key points. However, since only a single damaged specimen was available, line drawings, light microscope photographs and a short formal description are provided. Additionally, the male, deutonymph, protonymph, and larva of Agauopsis brevipalpus; the male and deutonymph of Agauopsis conjuncta; and the female, deutonymph, and protonymph of Agauopsis microrhyncha are reported and illustrated for the first time from Türkiye. Global records of Agauopsis groups (brevipalpus, conjuncta, ornata and microrhyncha) are also plotted on maps in this study. http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:72198556-357C-4CBB-8C0D-19B5CE9A79D6 http://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:DDE48606-6602-461D-A6CF-46EB9D90FFD0.
