There are various interactions between organisms living in the same habitat in natural ecosystems, such as competition, predator-prey relationship, and mutualism (Tegelaar et al. 2012). Cinara cedri Mimeur 1936 (Hemiptera, Aphididae) is an aphid feeding on Cedrus trees. Because of the quality of Cedrus spp. wood and their wide use as ornamental plants, Cinara cedri is distributed across different areas of the world along with its host (Mimeur 1935, Oğuzoğlu & Avcı 2019, Blackman & Eastop 2020). There are few published reports on the ant species associated with C. cedri globally (Devigne & Detrain 2005, Serttaş et al. 2012, Akyürek et al. 2016). Few studies in Turkey have explored the relationship between ants and aphid species (Özdemir et al. 2008, Akyıldırım et al. 2014, Akyürek et al. 2016, Kök et al. 2018). This research aimed to identify ant species associated with C. cedri in cedar forests within Afyonkarahisar, Burdur, and Isparta provinces affiliated to the Isparta Regional Forest Directorate.
