Abstract

Feather mites (Astigmata: Analgoidea and Pterolichoidea) examined in this study were collected from live birds captured and ringed in the autumn of 2024 at the Karpaz Bird Ringing Station. A total of 17 feather mite species from the families Proctophyllodidae (Dolichodectes—1, Joubertophyllodes—1, Monojoubertia—1, Proctophyllodes—10 species) and Trouessartiidae (Trouessartia—4 species) have been detected during the study. All of these are new records for the fauna of Cyprus. Males and females of all recorded species are illustrated in the provided photos.
