The study conducted to determine understanding of urban forestry practices in city of Isparta-Turkey. The methodology was focussed to questionnaire consisted of two target groups about urban forestry and other woodlands. Data was collected by means of a questionnaire to urban residents (n = 400) and experts (n = 53) by the 'face to face survey' technique. It was realized that the perception and understanding of urban forestry are important differences between urban people and experts who lived in Isparta city. It could be expressed that the reasons for these situations were related to lack of information and experience, unwillingness for explorly, unsharing of information. However, it showed that there were significant practice deficiencies in the management of urban forestry practices. Moreover, for providing the expected multi-services and contributions from urban forestry, first of all, the individual and society were needed to be understanding, awareness and love about trees, forest, nature, green areas and life concepts as a priority. © Sila Science.
