Purpose: This study is an overall assessment of the Young Farmer Projects Support Program (YFPSP); inferences are made in order to reveal opportunities and suggestions. Design/Methodology/Approach: The main material of the study was surveyed with a total of 2128 young farmers, including 1064 benefited from the YFPSP and 1064 who did not, in 14 Level-2 Regions selected according to the Classification of Statistical Region Units (NUTS), where agricultural employment between the ages of 18-40 is intense in 2016. In statistical evaluations, percentage rates and frequencies are used and interpretations are made based on these two groups. In addition, the Choice Experiment (CE), which is under the specified preferences, is used to determine the support parameters. Findings: It is determined that the support program was an important motivation tool for young farmers to continue their activities in the agricultural sector dynamically. It is determined that 85-90% of the farmers who benefited from this program are farming their families and that they are still farming. According to the results of the CE, it is defined that the biggest needs of the entrepreneurs are the marketing support and then the Social Security Institution (SGK) support. Grant + SGK support + in case of marketing support, it has emerged that 51,000 TL grant should be given to young entrepreneurs. Research Limitations/Effects: The study is mainly composed of 2016 support program data. However, YFPSP is also carried out in 2017 and 2018. Practical Applications: After the Young Farmer Project with a Legal Regulation issued at the end of 2019, the Expert Hands Project in Rural Development is carried out. Social Implications: It can be stated that with the experience and gains acquired by YFPSP, a certain dynamism and sustainability has been achieved in the agricultural sector. Originality/Value: It is recommended that additional incentive mechanisms will be provided to the companies that satisfy these criteria by determining success criteria that vary according to the branches of production and, if necessary, regions.
