Abstract

The scope of this study is the development and analysis of a novel integrated poly-generation system with a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) assisted power generation, refrigeration, desalination, and hot water preparation. The combined system consisted of a power-ejector refrigeration cycle (PERC), a multi-stage flash (MSF) desalination unit for freshwater production, and a hot water preparation unit for domestic applications. For the performance assessment of the system, thermodynamic analyzes are conducted in order to determine the system characteristics. Moreover, parametric analyses are performed in order to investigate the effects of major system parameters on the system performance, and the results are discussed in detail.
