Abstract

Sphegina (Sphegina) alaoglui n. sp. is described from north-eastern Turkey. The main characters distinguishing the new species from the closely related Palaearctic species S. elegans Schumrnel, 1843 are discussed. In addition, a new locality for S. clunipes (Fallén, 1816) in Turkey is given. © 1997 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
