Özet

According to the reports of the World Health Organization (WHO), an average of 36 million people worldwide have completely lost their vision and 217 million people have moderate or severe visual impairment. Visually impaired individuals, who have an important place in society, face various difficulties in basic activities such as navigation, access to information, traffic safety, shopping or walking on the street in their daily lives. Safe movement of visually impaired individuals as pedestrians in traffic poses a great risk, especially due to the lack of audible signals and physical disabilities. Inability to read product information and price tags or not being able to follow the store layout during shopping are important problems that limit independence. Wearable health technologies developed for visually impaired individuals, especially artificial intelligence-supported smart glasses, offer innovative solutions to increase the independence of these individuals and improve their quality of life. Our study addresses the difficulties faced by visually impaired individuals and aims to overcome these difficulties with artificial intelligence-supported smart glasses. We will present the model we developed in order to obtain the best results by training artificial intelligence models with the natural data set we created. We will integrate the model we have created into the glasses and make it available to the user via a mobile application.
