This study has focused on how and for what purposes official menus are used as a means of gastrodiplomacy. The data were obtained using content analysis from the working lunch and official dinners menus of the G20 Summits in UK, South Korea, Turkey and Argentina. The focus group interviews were held to verify the content analysis findings and understand what these menus ingredients imply from diplomacy and gastronomy perspectives. This study revealed that menus with historical, geographical, cultural and economic contents were used as a means of diplomacy in the context of soft power by countries for various purposes. As a result, it has been understood that gastronomy as a very broad concept has features that can contribute to many disciplines and the menus and their contents are crucial means of gastrodiplomacy.
