Özet

In this study, the heat and mass transfer are investigated in the volume which is between the heat exchanger pipes and air inlet of a mechanical draft evaporative cooler. It is accepted that in the studied volume, water flow take form only as droplets and there are no film flows. The experimental system used in this study is a countercurrent system. The heat and mass transfer occurs in the studied area is mathematically modeled. The interface temperature (air - water) is obtained by the help of Taylor Series. The purpose of this study is to obtain the volumetric heat and mass transfer coefficients in the studied volume. For this purpose, an experimental system is settled up and the experiments were done at various water and air mass flow rate and various height of the volume. The experimental results are analyzed in a computer program. The results taken from the computer program are presented graphically. In addition, variation of air temperature, water temperature, air humidity, Lewis number and water evaporation rate were obtained.
